Special Printing Solution – Excellent Realities
IML Machinery, experience and flexibility
The partner of excellence for ad hoc production solutions
Ours is an ever-changing industry, which is why we operate with a highly motivated team that is attentive to new challenges and able to foresee the production needs of the sectors in which we move. Our goal is to offer increasingly high-performance machinery that meets different needs.”
The speaker is Silvia Bertoli, CEO of IML Machinery, a branch of the historic IML Srl – Industria Meccanica Lombarda – founded in 1947 by her family and today among the world leaders in the production of accessories and components for the paper converting, bookbinding and related industries.
“IML Machinery was born out of the parent company’s need to satisfy with targeted solutions a wide range of customers in the production of finished products and has specialized mainly in gluing / laminating machines, machinery for papermaking, bookbinding and for the production of luxury boxes,” Silvia Bertoli explains. “IML supplies the accessories, while IML Machinery supplies the machinery: together we offer our customers a complete package for production. Many customers have expressed the need to be flexible, i.e., to produce by changing the material and format frequently: in these cases, a versatile machine that can be set up for the new format/material quickly allows this need to be met quickly.
We have found great interest in the luxury packaging sector, with clients who need to produce limited-run boxes, and also in publishing, which due to constant evolution, requires short runs, book on demand and photobooks. The papermaking sector, mainly related to the office and school, with production of filing cabinets and folders with ring and push mechanisms, also remains key.” IML Machinery’s solutions to the
companies operating in the industry rely on a wide range of efficient and professional equipment that makes work faster and more precise, such as the new machine with automatic “nailing” whose patent dates back to 2019 or the new fully automatic line for folder production and many more.
“Our strength is undoubtedly our great attention to the customer and the changing world,” Silvia Bertoli points out, “and our proposals range from small, manual machines to fully automatic solutions for customers who want to start production or for those already of a certain production size who want to further invest. At its headquarters in Bovisio Masciago, in the province of Monza Brianza, and in the show room, IML Machinery makes prototypes of machinery, and carries out assembly and testing often with materials and products supplied by the customer, with whom it studies increasingly high-performance solutions. “This year, unfortunately, because of the lockdown, Drupa, the most important exhibition event for our industry scheduled for June,” Silvia Bertoli concludes, “has been postponed to April 2021, from the 20th to the 30th, in Düsseldorf. IML Machinery will of course be there with its own booth to present the latest innovations.”
